Breast of veal is a wonderful cut of meat and is favoured by Veal connoisseurs' the world over. Our breast of veal is presented rolled ready to be seasoned and pot roasted. We use butcher's string bands rather than knotted string to give you the option of stuffing the breast and then easily re-rolling alternatively you can cut it into chunks for the famous and clasic blanquette de veau.

Breast of Veal
No Hassle Recipe Idea
For a luxurious, meltingly tender and inexpensive sunday roast :-
  • Slice 1kg of onions, and dice 1 carrot and 1 stick of celery.
  • Unroll a 1kg breast of veal roasting joint season with salt and peper and sprinkle 3 chopped garlic cloves and a handful of parsley.
  • Unroll a 1kg breast of veal roasting joint season with salt and peper and sprinkle 3 chopped garlic cloves and a handful of parsley. Roll the joint back up  and secure.
  • Heat 3tbsp oil in a pan big enought to hold the joint. Brown the joint all over
  • Add the vegetables and stir
  • Cover with lid and cook on a very low heat for 3 hours.
  • Remove the joint, add a glass of white wine to the pan and simmer for a few minutes,  then push through a seive to form a rough sauce.
  • Serve!
